Pay It Forward, With A Twist.

This is an excellent idea that should be implemented in all restaurants:

There is a little coffee shop, where two people arrive and approached the counter.

“Five coffees please. Two for us and three hanging.”

They paid, they took their two coffees and left.

I asked the waiter. "What’s this about hanging coffees?"

“Wait and you'll see."

Some more people came in.

Two girls asked for a coffee each, they paid & left.

The following order was for seven coffees and it was made by three women - ‘three for them and four hanging coffees.’

I was left wondering...what is the meaning of the hanging coffees, they leave.

Then, a man dressed in worn clothes, who looks like he might be homeless, arrives at the counter and asks sincerely...

“Do you have a coffee hanging?"

“Yes we do, sir.”

They serve him a coffee.... I got my answer.

People pay in advance for a coffee that will be served to whoever can't afford a hot drink.

This tradition started in Naples.

Amazingly, it has spread throughout the world’s cities and towns.

It’s also possible to order not only "hanging coffees" but also a sandwich or a full low cost meal.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could all start doing this in the cities and towns where we live?

Small kindnesses like this can impact so many lives, in ways we could never imagine.

Maybe we should all try it.😊❤️

MAGA Republicans Just Don't Make Sense

Despite my father's often stated claims that I am a liberal or socialist or that I  am just one of those who want to "take this country down" or to put the country on the track of the "gay agenda" I am in fact more conservative than liberal and would definitely classify myself as more Libertarian than anything.   He and his wife are definitely what I would classify as ignorant, gun toting, selfish, MAGA Republicans who worship at the altar of Donald J Trump.  My dad isn't someone who would be on the glass half empty or glass half full sides, he'd be firmly in the glass half stolen camp, demanding who stole half of the contents of his glass.  He sees the worst in everyone, thinks everyone is out to screw him over or put one over on everyone, probably because he would do the same given half  a chance.  He's all about money and self first, and frankly has been a shining example my whole life of how NOT to be.  He believes climate change is a farce, that

FYC: A New Approach To Modernizing Immigration--A New Look At The 2007 Forbes Proposal

Back in 2007, an editorial in Forbes Magazine titled " Your Bond, Please " was published.  It was an excellent suggestion for an innovation to modernize the antiquated system for people who want to legally immigrate to the US.  Recently I was asked to research ways for someone's nephew to immigrate to Texas and came across several roadblocks.   Basically the only ways you can legally immigrate to the US are as follows:  You can marry or get engaged to marry a US Citizen. You can be sponsored by a US Citizen who is an immediate family member, whose relationship is defined as follows:  Spouse, Parent, Child, or Sibling of said citizen. Be sponsored for employment by a US Company with a work Visa. Apply for political asylum. Enter the green card lottery. There is a little tiny blurb on the State Department website that talks about a "Family Preference" visa which it says is for distant family members of a citizen and that there are a limited number of those issued
